Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Honey
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • Dash of Salt

Directions

STEP 1

In a saucepan over low heat, combine Heavy Whipping Cream and Honey. Mix with a whisk for 1-3 minutes until well combined.

TIP: When adding Beach House Honey, make sure to warm it up in a pot of hot water or underneath a faucet. Heating our honey in the microwave will damage the nutrients and antibacterial properties.

STEP 2

Stir every 5 minutes for about 40 minutes or until caramel starts to thicken.

TEST CARAMELS THICKNESS

If desired, you can test the caramel’s thickness by completely cooling. If you desire a thicker caramel, you can heat it back up and continue stirring.

STEP 3

Add Vanilla to mixture and the Dash of Salt, stirring for about 1 minute. After mixing, take saucepan off heat and serve! (can be drizzled over ice cream used to make caramel dip apples! You can even make hard candy caramels)

The Story

Caramel has been around for a long time but we don’t exactly know where it came from. Some people say it comes from France but others propose that it originated from Greek. Nonetheless, caramel spread across countries and has been a popular confection for numerous years.
